2025 High School Summer Learning Options


ACE Austin Summer Program

Dates: June 2–July 11 (Mon–Fri)
Times:  Times will vary by campus but each will provide a minimum of 6 hours per day
Location: Eastside, Northeast

Description

Academic assistance and enrichment targeted to students in need of academic, attendance, and behavioral support. Activities may include fine arts, sports, tutoring, STEM and other activities selected in alignment with campus needs and assets.

Biliteracy Dual Language Camp

Dates: June 2–12
Times:  9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Location: Navarro, Travis

Description

The High School ESL Summer program provides opportunities for current 9th -11th Dual Language students to develop an understanding of the Three Pillars of Dual Language. This program promotes biliteracy as students will be provided with opportunities to write and reflect on their education, practice presentation skills, and prepare to earn the ¼öƬapp Dual Language Seal of Biliteracy.

High School students currently enrolled in the Dual Language Program are eligible to participate.


End-of-Course Prep-Camp

Dates: June 2–June 12 (Mon–Thur)
Times:  9 a.m.–2 p.m.
Location: Akins, Anderson, Austin, Bowie, Crockett, Eastside, LBJ, McCallum, Navarro, Northeast, Travis

Description

This program will provide support for current high school seniors needing to pass the summer administration of the STAAR EOC starting June 17, 2025.


Newcomer Program–English 1 Enrichment/English 3 Advancement

Dates: June 9–26, (Mon - Thu)
Times: 9:30 a.m.–2 p.m.
Location: Northeast

Description

English 1 Enrichment

Providing English 1 curriculum and STEM-based sheltered instruction that engages Emergent Bilinguals in real world challenges and supports school acclimation.  Registration is only available for current IHS students.

English 3 Advancement

Providing older Emergent Bilinguals in 10th grade who have passed English 1 & 2 the opportunity to receive full credit for English 3 and prepare for the TSI exam through sheltered instruction. Must meet all requirements to enroll.

Summer Melt

Dates: June 9-11
Times: Times will vary by campus    
Locations: Bowie, Travis, Navarro, McCallum, Akins, Ann Richards, LBJ, Eastside, Garza

Objective

The ¼öƬapp Summer Melt Initiative is intended to support the 2025 graduates to enroll in college in the Fall of 2025. College enrollment services include: 

  • Apply for college housing (as available)

  • Register for college orientation

  • Submit final high school and dual credit transcript

  • Submit vaccination records

  • Accept and process their financial aid package

  • Submit final college readiness test scores

  • Complete federal student loans requirements

  • Conduct TSIA2 Testing

  • Submit FAFSA/TASFA

Our summer melt advisors will also be available to support graduates in pursuing career options available at Austin Community College and alternative programs in the Central Texas area. 

Summer Melt Initiatives

The ¼öƬapp College, Career, and Military Readiness Department will hire Summer Melt Advisors who will serve the 2025 graduates over the summer. These advisors will be working at their respective home campuses to include and the assignments include:
