Media Advisory: Ƭapp Promotes Literacy During International Read for the Record Day Oct. 21

AUSTIN, Texas—Ƭapp will be promoting reading throughout its elementary schools during International Read for the Record Day.

What: Interim Superintendent Paul Cruz will read “Bunny Cakes,” by Rosemary Wells to bilingual kindergarteners.

When: 9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21

Where: Barrington Elementary, 400 Cooper Drive

Background: International Read for the Record Day is an initiative by Jumpstart. Jumpstart is a national early education organization that recruits and trains college students and community Corps members to serve preschool children in low-income neighborhoods.

People from all around the world will promote reading by reading the same book some time throughout the day.

This year’s book, “Bunny Cakes,” is a comical story of sibling bonding and birthday shenanigans, by bestselling author and illustrator Rosemary Wells.
